“First of all, I am an old Testament fan. I mean that quite literally. I bought The New Order in 1988 or 89 on cassette. I bought Practice What You Preach shortly after, also on cassette. I loved these albums back then, but have put them on the back burner since the age of CD’s and digital music. I didn’t think I’d enjoy them as much as an “adult”, but boy was I wrong! I may or may not be starting a midlife crisis and have reverted back to some of my more youthful pleasures. I really wanted to get The New Order and PWYP only, but found that this set was cheaper for 5 albums than just those 2. I still listen mostly to the aforementioned albums, but enjoy The Ritual, Souls of Black and The Legacy to a lesser degree. I have found a new respect for the band after actually listening to the lyrics. They linger around environmental issues and what happens when we don’t treat Mother Earth so well, with post apocalyptic nightmares. .
