Across the years of his solo career, Billy Joel produced 33 self-penned Top 40 hits in the U.S. Joel has numerous iconic songs that have not only topped the charts early on in his career but have since become timeless classics. He has been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame (1992), the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (1999), and the Long Island Music Hall of Fame (2006). In 2014, Billy Joel began a historic residency at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Initially planned for one year, his monthly performances were extended indefinitely due to popular demand. He holds the record for the most performances by any artist at the venue.
